A Memorable Educational Tour to Fort Portal and Kasese

Every term, Cornerstone Day Care Nursery and Primary School organizes educational tours that allow learners to explore new places, experience Uganda’s beauty, and connect classroom knowledge to real-life experiences. This year’s tour to Fort Portal and Kasese was one of the most exciting and memorable trips yet.

The journey began early in the morning as excited learners, teachers, and support staff boarded the school vans, filled with laughter and anticipation. Along the way, learners enjoyed breathtaking views of rolling hills, lush greenery, and tea plantations. Upon reaching Fort Portal, they visited the majestic Tooro Palace, where they learned about the Tooro Kingdom’s history, culture, and traditions.

The next stop was Queen Elizabeth National Park in Kasese — a highlight for everyone. Learners were amazed by elephants, buffaloes, hippos, and antelopes grazing freely in their natural habitat. They also had a chance to learn about conservation, wildlife protection, and tourism’s importance to Uganda’s economy.

Throughout the trip, learners practiced teamwork, discipline, and respect for nature. They returned inspired, more knowledgeable, and full of stories to tell. The tour was not just a journey — it was a living classroom experience that deepened their love for learning and their pride in Uganda.
