Nurturing Young Farmers at Our School Farm

At the heart of Cornerstone’s learning philosophy is a commitment to practical education. Our school farm is both a source of food and a hands-on classroom where learners engage in meaningful agricultural activities.

Learners take part in planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting crops such as maize, beans, and vegetables. They also care for animals like cows and goats and learn how to milk and feed them responsibly. These daily experiences connect learners to nature and teach them essential lessons in sustainability, patience, and responsibility.

The farm produces fresh milk, vegetables, and other farm products that are used in the school’s kitchen, making the learning experience even more rewarding. Teachers use the farm to integrate lessons from science, health, and social studies, helping learners understand the connection between theory and practice.

Through the school farm, learners develop respect for the environment, a sense of community, and an appreciation for hard work — values that will guide them throughout their lives.
